It all started when…

Connection Alaska began as a vision in June of 2000 that fueled the basis of research on Embracing the Homeless Community in 2003. In 2005,  Kim Patterson's thoughts about the needs of young adult men led to a series of conversations with leaders within Alaska and the nation. These conversations were followed by the tracking of trends within this population and, finally, resting with a focus upon the unique needs of young adult men and their families. On January 9, 2013 the vision began to take shape with the formation of a core of like-minded professionals with the passion, knowledge, experience, and determination to make a significant difference in the lives of Alaska’s young men.
